Collapse of Cohension: Hurricane Katrina

There is a news story which not that many have heard. Major Garrett of Fox News has been giving interviews on the radio. He is speaking about information he has gathered since the events of the hurricane. He has been looking for the "dots" leading to the events responsible for the collapse of cohesion during and after Hurricane Katrina.

The Red Cross was on the scene days before the hurricane. They housed over 150,000 thousand people who evacuated. They have already provided several million meals. The only place they were not allowed to enter was the Superdome. (They were there before the levees broke.)

When inquiring why they were not allowed to into the Superdome the response was, "You will have to ask the State Homeland Security office. It was their decision." When pressed, she said she said she did not feel comfortable disclosing anymore information.

This is understandable, because they have to keep good working relationships with each state. The question is, "Why would homeland security deny access to food and shelter?" During one of Mr. Garrett's interviews, he said the State Homeland Security did not want the people fed. This was because they did not want them to stay and not cause a "magnet." They wanted them to evacuate.

As Mr. Garrett has said even with all the Red Cross had to offer, it may not have been all that was needed. The question now remains, why was everyone calling on President Bush while the President was trying to get permission to take over? They had many of the things they required.

Stay tuned. The national news souces should be covering this shortly. Hopefully. The Congress and Senate are going to assemble "Committees" to find the holes and plug them. Maybe, within all the politization, we will find the truth.

Please remember to continue your donations. You may feel comfortable with the Red Cross, but be careful. There are some groups out there who will call or make fake websites. Please, go to www.redcross.org if you wish to contribute to them.

You may also contribute to Soldiers Angels, as our men and women in the Military have suffered also. Please remember them.
