Iranian Daily Close to Supreme Leader Khamenei: "If Any Country Such as North Korea, Concludes, for Political or Security Reasons, That It Must Have Nuclear Weapons, It Will Ultimately Succeed... Even if the Whole World Is Opposed..."

On October 12, 2006, the Iranian daily Kayhan, which is identified with Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, published an editorial titled "Lessons from North Korea."

Ayatollah Borujerdi: Iranians are "Opposed to the Politicization of Religion and its Exploitation by a Group That Has Nothing to Do With True Islam"

The London daily Al-Sharq Al-Awsat reported on October 8, 2006 that hundreds of supporters of Ayatollah Mohamed Hossein Kazemini Borujerdi prevented his arrest by Iranian security forces. Ayatollah Borujerdi, who is in favor of separating religion from politics in Iran, said that "Iranians are tired of the religion of politics."

Islamist Websites Monitor No. 7: Clashes Between Al-Qaeda in Iraq and Iraqi Mujahideen Who are Not Members of Al-Qaeda or of Its Shura Council

Today, October 13, 2006, an Islamic website posted a 17-minute video cassette showing a masked man called "Abu Osama Al-Iraqi" who presented himself as one of the commanders of the jihad in Iraq. In the cassette, he addressed Osama bin Laden with accusations against Al-Qaeda in Iraq and its commanders, and threatened that the Iraqi mujahideen would fight Al-Qaeda in Iraq.
