National Day of Action for Darfur 8/18/2005

On September 21st, 2005, communities across the United States will express America's concern for Darfur. Simultaneously, leaders of major American organizations–from religious groups to humanitarian aid agencies–will convene in Washington, DC for a National Leadership Assembly for Darfur. At the assembly, leaders will meet with elected officials to reinforce the American public's demands that the United States take action to save the people of Darfur.

You can help the call for action by meeting with your local elected representatives, hosting a prayer vigil, or educating your community as a Darfur Ambassador. At each event across the nation postcards will be available so that participants can write to President Bush.

Plan your community event now. See www.savedarfur.org for more details and suggestions for planning your event. Then, register your event so people in your area can participate.

The Save Darfur public service announcement, featuring Don Cheadle and Paul Rusesabagina, will air tonight on Access Hollywood. You can view the PSA here.
