Ganji Receives the Golden Pen of Freedom Award

There was held a wonderful ceremony, possibly in Italy, by the World Association of Newspapers (WAN). They awarded Ganji with the Golden Pen of Freedom Award and "respectfully bowed to his suffering and resistance."

They praised Ganji for his efforts to pursuade the Iranian government to allow freedom of speech and human rights. Also, they joined in his resistance. They demanded, once again, that Ganji be immediately released, but to no avail. This is usual, as Iran does not feel moved at all by the world community.

Ganji has become the major symbol of bravery and integrity. He will not allow corruption to defame his religion, nor will he remain. Because of this, the guards have denied food.

There have been many stories written, many rallies and protests, and his wife has begged the government for his release without any movement toward freedom. Please, read the entire article. Help in whatever way you can, even if it is only by writing about his plight. Thank you.
