IRI tries to restart fake talks with Europe

The Islamic Republic tries again to restart talks.
  • YNet News reported that Iran is inviting Western representatives for discussions of why Tehran is continuing uranium enrichment.
  • Fox News reported that Iran offered to talk with the West about its disputed nuclear program days before the U.S. and its partners are expected to circulate a draft resolution providing for limited sanctions against Tehran.
Russia states it plainly, it opposes a regime change in Iran.
  • The Washington Post reported that Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov said "We won't be able to support and will oppose any attempts to use the Security Council to punish Iran or use Iran 's program in order to promote the ideas of regime change there."
  • ABC News reported that Condoleezza Rice on Saturday delivered a symbolic rebuke to Russia over shrinking press freedoms even as she courted President Vladimir Putin for help punishing Iran over its nuclear program.

  • Fars News Agency reported that the rapporteur of the Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission said that in case Europe rocks the boat and blocks progress of nuclear talks, the Islamic Republic will prevent any further entries into Iran by the IAEA inspectors.
  • Michael Rubin, The Weekly Standard reported that on the upcoming report by James Baker and Lee Hamilton on current status of the Iraqi situation how Baker and Hamilton gerrymandered these advisory panels to ratify predetermined recommendations.
