  • Telegraph reported that a conflict between Israel and Iran is inevitable and unavoidable. It will come about because Israel cannot tolerate the rebuilding of Hezbollah's fortified zone in south Lebanon , from which last year it launched its missile bombardment of northern Israel.
US: Iran plotting to bring down the Lebanese government.
  • The New York Times reported that senior officials claim that there is “mounting evidence” that Iran and Syria were involved in a plot to bring down the government of Prime Minister Fouad Siniora of Lebanon.
Iran tests new long range missile.
  • Seattle PI reported that Iran has successfully test-fired three new models of sea missiles in a show of force to assert its military capacities in the Gulf.
Condi warns Iran not to use them.
  • AdelaideNow reported that Condoleezza Rice chided Iran for trying to act "tough" after it fired a new long-range missile, but warned Tehran would "suffer greatly" if it used the weapon in anger.
Russia edits down the EU's draft resolution on Iran.
  • ABC News reported that Russia proposed extensive changes to soften and shorten a U.N. draft resolution that would impose tough sanctions on Iran.
