  • Reuters reported that diplomats from six major powers will meet in Paris on Tuesday for talks on Iran 's disputed nuclear program.
Iran Misfires on Lebanon and Iraq.
  • Scott Sullivan, Persian Journal argued that Iran has picked this week to carry out simultaneous coup d'etats in Lebanon and Iraq . Iran 's policy has misfired on both.
Iran Warns 10 Papers Could be Shut For Election.
  • Yahoo News reported that the Islamic Republic has warned 10 mainly reformist newspapers they risk closure for the duration of the campaign for December municipal elections.
Sliding to Disaster.
  • Amir Taheri, FrontPageMag.com argued that two visions of Lebanon are now in open conflict. One vision sees the country as a frontline bunker in a war of civilizations aimed at "cleansing" the Middle East of the "infidel presence," and paving the way for the emergence of a new bloc of Islamic powers led by Iran . The other vision sees Lebanon as a haven of modernity, business and fun.

  • Robert Spencer, FrontPageMagazine.com argued that Ahmadinejadization is spreading. Its symptoms are clear from his Friday letter to the American people. Addressed to “Noble Americans,” in the letter Ahmadinejad calls on America to withdraw from Iraq , end support for Israel , and convert to Islam. If we do those three things, peace will ensue: we’ll be…Ahmadinejadized.
